We are again going to collect items to be sent to some of our active service members who are overseas as a way to help them celebrate the Christmas holidays and know folks back home are appreciative of their efforts to keep us safe. Our very own Mark Potter will coordinate the shipping activity to the individuals and we will get a list of their names. In addition to the items on the list we will have Christmas cards at future meetings for our members to sign and we will include those in our packages. I know personally how much these types of packages mean to the troops as I sent many to my grandson while he was in the Navy, these items and the thoughts mean so much to them and many do not have family contact or support so it is extra special to them to receive something. Please consider to start brining items from Nov 15th through Dec 11th so that we can help these 25 young people have a special holiday season and to let them know that they are supported and appreciated.Stories

This month our Rotary President, Celeste Cox, traveled to Honduras. She met with the Rotary President, Alex Erazo in San Pedro Sula to see the work that they are doing. The projects included eco-stoves, latrines, wash stations and water infrastructure.     |

Special Thanks to all our Rotarians that helped with the Christmas Parade. It was a huge success. Also, our Salvation Army Bell Ringing yielded $505.69 and the total at the Sam's location was $11,346.89. Together we make a Difference !  |
 McKinney Rotary’s Christmas Parade of Lights will be held on Thursday, December 20th, 2018 at 7:00 in Downtown McKinney. The Christmas Parade has become our community’s focal point for family entertainment during the holiday season and we are expecting over 30,000 attendees this year! This year’s theme is Christmas Around the World, reflecting Rotary's dedication to helping people and communities all around the globe.  It was a full house today!! Our charity of the month is Shiloh Place, and we presented a check to Patriot Paws. Five outstanding seniors were honored from McKinney High School and McKinney Boyd High School. Finally, two students that attended Rotary Model UN shared their experiences. |
