September’s Charity of the Month is DIRECTION61:3 which was established in McKinney in 2017. They provide a holistic approach to youth ages 16-22 who are aging-out of the foster care system by helping them acquire housing, obtain a reliable car and become established into a close adult community.
They assist these young adults with career/college preparation, life skills and the building and changing of life relationships. DIRECTION61:3 has three residential homes licensed 12/20 by TX Department of Family & Protective Services. All residents are considered family and are invited/encouraged to participate in regular ongoing events beyond their tenure with DIRECTION61:3.
To supply three homes filled with teenagers here are some needed items you can bring to our meeting or drop off on my front porch:
